Your Excellency President Chissano,
Excellencies,
Honourable Ministers;
Executive Secretary of SADC,
Fellow Malagasy countrymen;
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am grateful to have the opportunity to speak to you today about the current crisis in
Madagascar.
But before I do so, let me thank President Chissano and his team, the Executive Secretary of
SADC, as well as the special envoys of various organisations, who are helping us to get out of
this crisis.
Through you, President Chissano, I would like to convey my profound gratitude to my
Brother, President Gebuza and the people of Mozambique for your warm welcome and
generous hospitality.
I also want to acknowledge the Malagasy people who have remained strong and courageous
during these challenging times.
They are a source of hope that our country can emerge from this crisis stronger than ever.
Democracy should be respected and ensured at all costs.
Therefore, as we work together to find a solution to this crisis, the will of Malagasy people
must come before all else.
On behalf of the people of Madagascar, I extend my heartfelt thanks to the international
community for your tireless work in helping to bring about an end to this crisis through
peaceful dialogue.
It is my hope that the effort put forth by all Malagasy parties will pave the way to an
immediate return to democracy for the Malagasy people.
It is what they deserve.
Throughout the ordeal of the past several months the Malagasy people have shown
remarkable courage and resolve.
Constitutional order must be restored
Rule of law must be re-established.
Reconciliation must begin.
National pride must be restored.
But above all else, national interest must come first.
As Madagascar’s democratically-elected President, I am fully prepared to do my part to
restore peace and order.
Once back in my country, I will work in a collaborative spirit to restore constitutional
normalcy and strengthen our young democracy.

Je suis reconnaissant d'avoir l'occasion de m'adresser à vous aujourd'hui au sujet de la crise actuelle en Madagascar.
Mais avant cela, permettez-moi de remercier
- le Président Chissano et son équipe, le Secrétaire exécutif de la
SADC,
-ainsi que les envoyés spéciaux de diverses organisations, qui nous aident à sortir de cette crise.
Grâce à vous, Monsieur le Président Chissano, je tiens à exprimer ma profonde gratitude à mes Frère, Président Gebuza et le peuple du Mozambique pour votre accueil chaleureux et généreuse hospitalité.
Je tiens également à saluer le peuple malgache qui sont restés forts et courageuxen ces temps difficiles.
Ils sont une source d'espoir que notre pays peut sortir de cette crise plus fort que jamais.
La démocratie doit étre respecté et garanti à tous les coûts.
Par conséquent, comme nous travaillons ensemble pour trouver une solution à cette crise, la volonté du peuple malgacheoit passer avant toute autre chose.
Au nom du peuple de Madagascar, j'adresse mes remerciements les plus sincères à l'international communauté pour votre travail inlassable en aidant à mettre un terme à cette crise par le biais dedialogue pacifique.
C'est mon espoir que les efforts déployés par toutes les parties malgaches, ouvriront la voie à un retour immédiat à la démocratie pour le peuple malgache.
C'est ce qu'ils méritent.
Tout au long de l'épreuve passée plusieurs mois, la population malgache a montré un remarquable esprit de courage et de détermination.
L'ordre constitutionnel doit étre rétabli
La règle de droit doit étre rétablie.
La réconciliation doit commencer.
La fierté nationale doit étre restaurée.
Mais par-dessus tout, l'intérét national doit venir en premier.
Comme Madagascar démocratiquement a élu le Président, je suis tout à fait prét à apporter ma part pour rétablir la paix et l'ordre.
Une fois de retour dans mon pays, je vais travailler dans un esprit de collaboration pour rétablir l'ordre constitutionnel ,la normalité
et de renforcer notre jeune démocratie
